About Us
Parker Tours has been traveling throughout the U.S. and Canada for over two decades. The idea for tours started in the 1990s when Dr. Everett L. Parker was executive director of the Moosehead Historical Museum in Greenville, Maine. The project began as “Moosehead Historical Tours” and most of our tours were either in-state or day trips to Quebec City. After retiring from the museum, Everett and Janet Parker changed the company name to “Northland Tours.” That was later changed to “Parker Tours” since we were by then traveling all over North America.
Whether it’s a cross-country trip by the southern route, including deserts of the Southwest and the Grand Canyon, or the northern route, including Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons, or Canada trips including the Canadian Rockies and Newfoundland and Labrador, Parker Tours offers it all. We also still do day trips in Maine, New England, Quebec and New Brunswick. Many people enjoy our popular Maritimes tours, which includes Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Cape Breton, and King’s Landing in New Brunswick. Probably our most popular annual tour is Atlantic Canada, where we explore the land of icebergs and Vikings in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The love of travel is something the Parkers have enjoyed for decades. And even more enjoyable is providing quality tours of interesting places at reasonable prices. Simply put, there is no better way to enjoy a trip than on a tour bus. If you are traveling by car, the poor driver rarely gets to see anything! And someone has to watch the route, look for places to eat, and places to spend the night. Quite often, you are exhausted from the rigors of getting to a particular destination, and too tired to enjoy it once you arrive!
With an escorted bus tour, you leave everything to us and just enjoy the scenery. Over the years, we have learned the best routes, the best places to stop, the best places to eat, and the best accommodations. You leave the driving to us and can just sit back and relax. All of our tours are fully interpreted, which means we tell you about what you are seeing while you enjoy the ride in a comfortable, air conditioned tour bus with with wide windows and bathroom. No need to worry about where to spend the night as we have carefully selected hotels and motels for each tour.
But perhaps the best part of all is the friendly, personal service we offer. You are never herded onto the bus and spend a long day on the road without stopping. We know this is a vacation for you, and we want you to enjoy it. We stop frequently so you can stretch the legs, and we provide on-board water and snacks along the way.
Give us a call today! You won’t be sorry!
